Prince Andrew is well-known for his love of fast cars and horses, but he also has a passion for fashion that not many people know about. Whether going to the Haute Couture shows in Paris or surprising Harry with a pair of Versace shoes, there’s more to the Duke of York than meets the eye.
1) HE’S A REGULAR AT THE HAUTE COUTURE SHOWS IN PARIS
Prince Andrew is well-known for attending the annual stages of the haute couture collections in Paris. Naturally, he’s never there to buy clothes but to soak up all the fashion and style on display. He often attends with his daughter, Princess Eugenie, a fan of fashion.
2) HE’S FRIENDS WITH DONATELLA VERSACE
As well as attending the haute couture shows, Andrew is also good friends with designer Donatella Versace. Her nephew, Daniel, actually bought Harry a pair of black leather boots from the Italian label back in February this year. He got them sent over to Kensington Palace after Harry told him he fancied them.
3) HE’S THE STYLE OF THE ROYAL FAMILY
It might seem surprising, but Prince Andrew is known for being a trendsetter amongst the royals. The Duke of Kent typically follows his lead, as does Zara Tindall, who was spotted sporting some similar tan wedges back in 2012.
4) HE HAS A KEEN INTEREST IN MENSWEAR
Prince Andrew doesn’t care much for labels, instead preferring to buy his clothes from high street stores. He’s recently spent a lot of time working with British department store Debenhams and is very involved with the design process.
5) HE’S NEVER WITHOUT HIS TRUSTY PANAMA HAT
Despite the English summer, Prince Andrew always insists on wearing a Panama hat working or attending events. He’s even been known to wear it when he goes to the races at Ascot.
